Like any business, SLC has expenses that must be paid to keep our doors open. Rent, utilities, licenses, insurance, wages, and basic office supplies. Grants generally do not cover these types of expenses. We appreciate your generosity in helping us cover these costs.
Our mission of "empowering learners" includes our staff, teachers, and tutors. The adult education and nonprofit professions require us to continually learn to deliver a high-quality education program and effectively manage a nonprofit.
Supporting staff training is investing in the SLC's future and ensures that our students receive an education we can all be proud of.
We aim to support all students in their pursuit of success. Our online study programs for ESL and HiSET, virtual job fairs, and hiring workshops support learners who cannot attend in-person classes. $500 a semester will provide materials and tuition for a student.
Adopt a student. It would be amazing for everyone to have a sponsor!
We rely on our community and individual donors to help keep our Center operating!
Please consider a monthly contribution subscription for ongoing support.
Just like with any family's budget, steady monthly income is vital to stay "in business"!
Business sponsors are such an important part of our programs! We appreciate every business donor - from small solopreneur business owners to corporate grants!
This ongoing help is so vital to meeting our annual funding goals.
We offer social media, newsletter & website recognition!
The heart of our work is encouragement, support, and friendship. Whether it is working 1:1 with a student, hosting a small group English conversation class, helping out in the office, or development support, we have something for those looking for meaningful volunteer experiences.
